LAHA VALLEY, RIYADH

Just a stone's throw from the bustling metropolis of Riyadh, Laha Valley beckons with its unique topography of stripe-layered hills, lush greenery, and vast plains between mountains. A haven for nature enthusiasts, this hidden gem offers a refreshing escape from the city's hustle and bustle.

Conveniently located just an hour's drive from the heart of Riyadh, Laha Valley is a hidden oasis closer than you think. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this underrated destination is a must-see for its serene desert beauty.

Laha Valley is a long valley stretching more than 20 kilometers from Lower Dirab to the town of Haeer. It is one of the lovely places to explore in Riyadh for sightseeing, light mountain hiking, and trekking, and it is accessible and reachable from the city center.

Unlike other major attractions and spots in Riyadh, Laha Valley is a hidden gem known only to a select few. Its exclusivity sets it apart, making it a unique experience for those who venture there. This is why it remains less visited, presented, featured, and mentioned by vloggers on social media platforms.

It has sprawling golden desert sands that flicker in the sun's light and bright sky. The majority of its area is private farms. The farm greenery complements the blending colors of the sands, the green plants, golden mountains, ridges, and escarpment.

With its long and colossal area, plenty of exciting places and interesting spots are scattered for light trekking and hiking.

Soldier's Head Valley

The Sunset Valley is where hikers enjoy watching the sunset. Hikers are now on the way to do the sunset viewing.

Soldier’s Head Valley is one of the seven valleys accessible and connected to the Lahay Valley south of Riyadh City. It is a place to enjoy watching the sunset without any bummer as you look at the sun slowly fading its light hiding from the horizon on the west.

You settle on the escarpment and feel the desert breezes softly touching your body while enjoying the fresh air on the vast desert plateau.

You only need to drive more or less 50 km from the city center of Riyadh to Laha Valley, then do the light mountain trail hiking to the hilltop and wait until sundown.

The shortest way to Soldier’s Head Valley is through Laha Valley. However, it is not openly accessible to the public because private farms occupy Lahay Valley. You need to secure permission from the farm owners to access Soldier’s Head Valley. If they do, be thankful; if they don’t, you can’t do anything.

The easiest way to get to the Soldier’s Head Valley is to connect with the Saudi Hiking Team of the Saudi Adventure, a tour and travel agency operating in the kingdom. You need to pay the cost of the hiking package they offer, and you can go with them to the
